Just imagine a world without Fridays. What would that be like? Would it even matter? I think it would. Fridays are so exciting because they mark the end of an extensive, tedious work week and the start of the long-awaited weekend. So if we didn’t have Fridays then another day would take over, perhaps Thursday. You may be wondering where I’m going with this, and you are right to speculate. What I’m saying is that humans thrive on hope. We live in anticipation of the next thrill, even if it’s just the end of the week, but all of a sudden the weekend is gone and we face the much dreaded Monday. Now Mondays are another story. We despise them! On Friday night we start thinking about how we’re one day closer to Monday and how life would be so much better without them. Sadly, without Monday we’d still have Tuesday to replace it. Like everyone else I’m not immune to Mondays and the blues that accompany them, but the difference is that I have realized that without Mondays we wouldn’t look forward to Fridays. To me Mondays mark new beginnings, and a chance to start over. Think about it. You have to really concentrate on this fact- EVERY WEEK you have a chance at a do-over. Every single week we hear a ton of people promise that on Monday they will start a new diet, work out, start saving, etc. Mondays are what separate us from the bad choices, and give us hope. I truly believe that God in His infinite wisdom set it up this way so that we can always have something to look forward to. If you look around all of life is this way. The seasons change and with each the end of one cycle is evident while the other begins to flourish.
